Ale Torriggino is a musician from Argentina who recently released Blue Light. Torriggino got his start playing drums at the age of twelve. It didn’t take him too long to pick up a guitar and start writing songs.
Blue Light is his second album and melds elements of rock, blues and more. He worked with Gonzalo Esteybar who produced the album and that results sound fantastic. The album opens with a bluesy rock hybrid called “The Healer”. It's also quite catchy and enjoyed the lyrics quite a bit. How many times have we heard platitudes about a significant other. It was great to hear him singing about the healing power of music which I think is absolutely true in an emotional sense. Up next is “When the Tide Begins to Turn” which is a little more upbeat and something you would want to hear at bar on a Friday NIght. It’s chill but lively at the same time. I enjoyed the juxtaposition. “Grey Sky Blues” is a sit by the fire type song that reminded of Eric Clapton. On that note it also had hints of Pink Floyd. I think it was the lyrics which felt like something you would hear from Pink Floyd. The melody is one of the most palatable on the album “Catherine” unexpectedly goes into rockabilly territory. It’s a solid song but felt a bit striking coming off of “Great Sky Blues”. He mellows out with the atmospheric and melancholy “If I Go” while “Waiting for the War To Come” is a protest song. As the album progresses he mixes it between organ infused blues rock, hard rock and even a gorgeous closer that is closer to a folk song Overall, Blue Light is cohesive album that explores like minded genre. I really enjoyed the flow and thought he picked the perfect amount of songs .The album doesn't drag but was substantial. Recommended.
