3.7 out of 5

Two Birds One Stoned are a band from Italy comprised of Marco "Pux" Duse (drums) and Albero Santinon (guitar). The band rocks out quite hard with their blues rock style self-titled five-song EP Two Birds One Stoned. Explaining their music on paper doesn’t do the EP justice. There are tons of  bands out there that have a similar style but I would argue not many have the delivery these two can bring to the table.

The album feels explosive from beginning to end and hands you a dose of adrenaline with each passing second a song is playing. Take for instance the opener “City Streets” which will you get riled up and ready to do somersaults up and down your living room floor. The lyrics depict an out of the control wildman who is going to quickly burn out if he does one more shot of whiskey. The vocalist sings, “You know that i’m drunk every night? i’m so high / Riding a car, going in a club, let’s shake it on and on and on.”

The band continues to rock your socks off with “Out Of My Mind.” So my theory is that this is the followup to the first song and this is how the protagonist handles his day after a night of partying. He sings, “Out of my mind out of my mind /And everybody knows it / Every morning I wake up in the jungle / Every morning we're moving too slow.”

Hey guys slow down a bit I can’t handle the heat. Slick drumming and distorted guitars trample all over your ear drums on “Same Story” while “The Only One” tells the story of a dude who finds himself in the desert with NO money. Hopefully Uber works out there but if not you can know in your heart that you partied like an animal till the end.

The two members of Two Birds One Stoned need to pack up their bags and tour endlessly. Why? Because their music will be embraced by people of Tuvalu, San Marino and beyond. If you make it to Chicago I’ll be here waiting with a clove cigarette and a top hat with a plum inside of it.
